Originally born in Iran and shaped by a firsthand experience of illiberal government, Arian is driven by a commitment to freedom and human flourishing.
He is a Maxim Institute alumnus, formally employed at the New Zealand Free Speech Union and recently co-founded the civil liberties organisation PILLAR NZ (Protecting Individual Life, Liberties and Rights).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations from the University of Auckland. His unique insights inform his investing in global markets.

After more than three years working in and around politics, one moment has stayed with me.
I once heard a Cabinet minister, in the middle of a long discussion about rising global instability, pause and say: ‘We cannot waste a good crisis.’
Every challenge is an opportunity. Every problem is a new chance for us to leverage our skills, knowledge, and experience to maximise our chances for success.
Now, success will look different at different times and in different contexts. In some severe scenarios, we may leverage for stability. At other times, we may leverage for growth.
